As donna mentioned in the last post "those little things add up". Sometimes when you are there every day you don't notice as much. A couple of comments from his friends that last couple of days have been "wow, now that i see you sitting up you look like spence" and "you sound like spence now". this to us is awesome.
Tonight at dinner (and by the way he had his mom's cooking which are i am sure is the reason why), i saw some of that improvement. even though he was exhausted from PT,OT,ST,the best ST, he laughed and joked with us more than since he has been in the hospital. Or maybe it was getting off the floor today, to those who have been there you now what i mean, but i took him to the Stars Wars tube today. (It is a hall connecting MGH to Spaulding). Or maybe it was spence having his video camera, he taped the orthopedist who took a mold of his left leg so he could make a brace (and also asked him 201 questions),his nurse dacia, his roommate greg, and then he found out his speech therapist just bought a mac so she could do movies. what the heck they were talking about went over my head, adobe this, final cut this etc, etc,.
Anyway as I started its the little things adding up.:blog posts, cards, visits, prayers, messages thru friends,e-mails, keep'em um coming because i know this keeps spencer strong.

Man, you are lookin good Spence! Handsome and pushing right through the drills. You have come such a long way!! Keep it going strong. I think about you every day and I am really proud of you and amazed at your strength!
Keep that video cam rolling too, it is going to be a blast to see your work. Although I had the flu and didn't make it in with the chocolate shake, I am happy to hear that I can bring you even more good things to eat! I'll give your mom a call and find out what you're craving.
Keep up the good work and keep kickin butt! You are awesome! Lori, Lucas, and Charlotte sending you big hugs and lots of love.

You know, Spencer, reading your blog every day, and then checking out everybody's supportive comments, I am getting really, really hungry to try some of this fabulous food your mother is renowned for making! I am going to suggest that when she has a bit more time, perhaps she could add a recipe link to your blog -- "Dining with Spencer," or something like that!
Good for you, up there on two feet. We are still cheering for you and praying for you and your family. You look great and you should feel 7 feet tall even if you really aren't!

Spence,
OK...so I just carefully reviewed the photo of you and your PT and the ????? I have is exactly who is holding who tighter....Of course with all the charm you were born with (Donna would say her side, Dave would say his side)how could anyone resist "HOLDING YOU" One thing is certain you are the glue in the Nuttal Family.(once again Donna would say she is, Dave would say he is)....and just when you think you can't do one more physical thing asked of you...I know that there is just "1" more in there. Love you kid,
Mary, Mary

Hey Spence!
So great to hear you're doing so well! Sorry I haven't left anything in a while, I've haven't been around the computer for some time. Despite not being able to check up on you over vacation, you never left my mind. This European outting wasn't the same without you but I did find a store in London named after you and I couldn't help myself from taking a picture for you. I'm hoping to come up and visit you this weekend (Alana's supposed to help me out with direction so if you see her and I'm not there too, scold her for me =] )
Stay Strong! Can't wait to see you!

Hey Spence!!!

I'm sure you're making great videos as always but I really don't know if they'll ever compare to the quality and creativity of the classic "Shake your Bon-Bon" video. hahaha JUST KIDDING obviously!!! Well keep up the great work, talk to you soon!!! Love you :)

So where is our picture??? Hmmm? Hmmmm???? I'm highly upset Spencer. You can forget about me getting you into your wheelchair everyday mister! But I'm sure as soon as you are better you'll probably kick me. So it might not be a good idea, huh? Damn...I will think of something else then. :) Beware! Ill just sing some Sweeney Todd tunes to you. That would be a great punishment.

Spence -

Read your Dad's post. Was trying to figure out the initials PT,OT. I thought I had ST in college, then I remembered it was STD. You have to get back before Scorsese starts shooting to give him pointers. And not to disrespect your Uncle Jay and his lady but when you do make your movie, maybe just for the first one, stear clear of accountant jokes

Spencer, you look GREAT!! :) I can tell you've been working so hard and I'm so proud of you! I love that picture of you standing up and taking some steps!!! Keep pushing, keep positive, and know that I'm rooting for you. We loved the cookies your mom brought us for Valentine's Day. I loved them especially since I have no Valentine! :( Ask your mom when she's going to send me that cute little Italian boy she promised me!!! :) Keep up the good work, Spence!

Hello, Spence,
It's fantastic to hear about your stunning progress. How could it be any other way for such a special person who is surrounded by such a very, very special family. You are all amazing. And so is your mom's cooking!!! Are you really going to do a mohawk?! Can't wait to read tomorrow's blog.
