not a lot going on therapy wise this weekend. he had occupational therapy on both days to try to get him to start doing things as if he was home. he used a bench in the shower as opposed to the shower wheelchair. he tried dressing himself etc, etc.
today i got to see the wave twice and did not even realize it was happening until spence told me. his left hand (the one with no movement,or "lazy hand) just raises up and waves hi. i forgot to ask the doc but this has to be a good thing. he says it justs happens but i say there has to be some kind of impulse being sent from the brain.
i have noticed and the occupational therapist also, how spencer's speech is improving and his stamina also. he stays up much longer before tiring. Oh and he has been able to read the computer so keep the posts coming.
we will see what tomorrow brings.

I definatly agree about the speech thing!! I've noticed that lately too, he's louder and sounds much more like himself than he used to...especially on the phone! Keep up the good work Spence! I still miss you like crazy and I can't wait until you're back here in Taunton, so you can get back to life! It's not the same without you! See you soon!!

two thumbs up for "lazy hand" waving! just think you're that much closer to guitar hero therapy. and i think everyone has noticed how much more you sound like yourself. you don't even mumble on the phone [and you did that way before all this happened.] keep up the amazing progress, i love you, and i can't wait to just walk by you at work and stick out my toungue! =P oh, that reminds me, how's superspence's nametag working for him?

This is that Sunshine "Girl" back to bug you again. We've got to stop meeting like this. Perhaps we'll meet in person one of these days at Nanna's. It sounds like they're getting you prepared for your next move...HOME! Won't that be exciting? What will your parents/siblings and friends do with all that time they've been putting in traveling? Probably enjoying having you with them all the time right where you belong. I miss the days the blog isn't published so I can still be amazed at the progress you are making. Kudos to your cheerleading section (again, your remarkable parents, siblings, family and friends) Keep on going for the GOLD!

Hey Spence

Glad you can stay up much longer. If it lasts more than four hours consult a physician. Danm, wish my had been a pharmacist.

Hi Spencer! The wave is very good news. I've been praying for that. The "lazy" parts seem to be waking up so keep pushing on with therapy. Our little kids send their love. Four year old Catherine prayed today "Dear God, make Spencer very strong and better every day." God bless.
